MGCB Issues Cease-and-Desist Letters to Offshore Casinos Violating Michigan Laws
The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has taken action against offshore operators Lucky Tiger Casino and Rich Palms Casino for offering illegal gambling services in Michigan. These online casinos, run by Alistair Solutions NV in Curaçao, were found to provide real-money games like slots, table games, and video poker to Michigan residents.
Consequences for Violating Michigan Gaming Laws
MGCB’s Executive Director, Henry Williams, emphasized the board’s stance on illegal gambling, stating that any operator breaking the law will face repercussions. According to Williams, the agency is committed to upholding regulatory oversight to safeguard Michigan citizens and licensed operators.
Both Lucky Tiger Casino and Rich Palms Casino have breached various Michigan gaming regulations, including the Lawful Internet Gaming Act, Michigan Gaming Control and Revenue Act, and the Michigan Penal Code. The operators have been given a 14-day deadline to halt their illegal activities in the state.
MGCB Targets Unlicensed Operators
Aside from Lucky Tiger Casino and Rich Palms Casino, MGCB has also issued cease-and-desist letters to several other unlicensed operators, such as BetAnySports, CoolCat Casino, and WagerWeb. These operators were found to be in violation of Michigan laws and endangering consumers by offering unreliable withdrawal options.
MGCB’s actions aim to protect Michigan residents and ensure that all online gambling activities adhere to the law. Failure to comply with the cease-and-desist orders could result in further legal action against the operators.
